  • "I receive monthly chiropractic care for maintenance of my back issues. Recently I had been suffering from thoracic back pain for about a week when I went in to see Dr. Conroy - probably from too much tennis. During that week I tried everything- heat, foam roller, massage, massage gun and only got marginally better. Dr. Conroy was a magician. When I walked out of his office I was pain free and have been free of thoracic pain ever since. He keeps me active and when I do something stupid, he’s there to work his magic."

FAQ

New to chiropractic? refer to the questions below to learn more

  • Chiropractic can be looked at as a conservative treatment for the body as a whole; working with the spine and extremities in order to help you perform at your highest potential. Whether you’re an athlete, work a physically demanding job, or sit in a chair most of the day, chiropractic can help to increase your performance. The benefits of regular chiropractic care include a higher functioning nervous system, relief of acute, chronic, & radiating pain, decreased or elimination of headaches & migraines, clearer thinking, relief of digestive dysfunction, improved biomechanical performance, overall quality of life, & much more.

  • Dr. Conroy will sit down with you one on one and together will go through a consultation, which consists of an in depth look at your primary areas of complaint, and full health history. Then a motor, sensory, orthopedic, and neurological exam will be performed before any treatment is done. At that time it will be determined if X-rays are needed as well as if treatment is necessary.

  • Taking care of your spine and nervous system is one of the most important things you can do. Research has shown regular maintenance tied in with specific stretches and exercising to be very beneficial in improving all aspects of your life. After your initial exam, Dr. Conroy will give you his recommended treatment plan tailored specifically to you. Getting checked routinely, you will see the continued benefits of it long term. We encourage every patient to take charge of their health and do what they can to lead a more bountiful lifestyle.

  • X-rays are a very important piece to the puzzle to not only rule out certain diagnoses (I.E.- fracture, pathology, excessive degeneration, etc.) but it allows the doctor to be as thorough as possible in order to get the present problem corrected. The doctor's decision for x-rays would 100% be determined based on what is discussed regarding the consultation, past & current health history, previous accidents & injuries, and ortho-neuro exam findings.

  • As with any treatment there are risks and benefits. The nice thing about chiropractic is there is an extremely small chance of having any outcome besides a GOOD one. For the vast majority of our patients they find immediate relief and huge benefits from regular care.

  • Dr. Conroy uses a different table and pillow specifically designed for pregnant patients that allows you to lie face down comfortably without any pressure on your belly or baby! In addition to years of experience Dr. Conroy is Webster Certified, a specific type of adjustment/treatment for pregnancy.

  • Delivery is tough work, for mom and baby. There are a lot of pressures and forces being exerted onto your baby’s head and spine during their journey into the world. If left uncorrected, this trauma continues to impact a baby’s spine, growth, and development; reducing the healthy function of their nervous system and hitting milestones. This can result in a variety of health challenges later in life that could easily have been corrected and prevented. At our office, we always perform a detailed exam to determine first IF your baby needs an adjustment. If an adjustment is necessary, we always take our time to explain our findings, and make sure that you (the parents) understand what to expect.

  • Pediatric Chiropractic is a specialized training for this reason: children and babies require a completely different type of adjustment than adults. The techniques used in Pediatric Chiropractic are gentle and do not involve any forceful movements. Instead, Dr. Conroy locates specific contact points at the areas of the spine indicated in your child’s exam and uses his hands applying a gentle pressure to the needed area. Most babies are relaxed or even sleep through their adjustments, it’s that gentle!

  • A baby’s spine lengthens by 50 percent in their first year. At no other time does this growth happen so rapidly, so you want to make sure your baby is in proper alignment, ensuring proper symmetrical growth. The first year of life is also the time of spinal curvature development. There are curves called lordosis present in your neck and lower back, and curves called kyphosis in your mid-back and sacrum. These spinal curves are necessary for movement, balance, upright posture, protection, and shock absorption. Without being in alignment during this crucial time, a baby’s spinal curves may not develop properly—giving him a poor foundation for later in life.

  • In most cases, activity is one of the best things you can do after an adjustment. An active lifestyle can actually help to aid and lengthen the time in between an adjustment. If the activity involves a rigorous workout or heavy lifting there may be instances where a patient should avoid it due to potential issues of instability.
